Become A Certified Bilingual Teacher

The Region 13 Bilingual Education Certification Program is designed to do more than prepare you for certification. Our mission is to equip future bilingual educators with a strong foundation in research-based, linguistically responsive teaching practices and the tools to create classroom environments where language learners can grow academically, socially, and emotionally.

Offered statewide, our program provides the flexibility and support you need to transition confidently into the classroom. With multiple learning formats—including structured in-person cohorts, a balanced hybrid model (a blend of in-person and online learning), and fully live online cohorts—you can choose the path that fits your schedule and learning style.

Our rigorous yet supportive curriculum prepares you for the realities of bilingual teaching. You’ll receive targeted TExES exam preparation, engage in evidence-based bilingual instructional strategies, and explore curriculum aligned to the Texas Teacher Standards and English Learner support frameworks. We emphasize reflective practice and cultural responsiveness, ensuring you’re equipped not only to succeed in your first year but to grow as a lifelong advocate and educator.
