CTE Certification by Exam

Educators who hold a current valid classroom teaching certificate and bachelor’s degree may add marketing, health science and trades and industrial education with verified work experience and current licensure when required.

Process

  • Submit a copy of your current Texas classroom teaching certificate
  • Submit the Statement of Qualifications (SOQ) form with appropriate work experience
  • Submit a copy of your current licensure, certification, or registration by a state or nationally recognized accrediting agency
  • Trade and Industrial Education and Marketing Teachers – submit $100 credential review fee through ecampus – (FA1941945)
  • Health Science Teachers – submit $155 test prep/credential review fee through ecampus – (FA1941946)

Marketing with SOQ

A marketing education certification may be added by exam to a valid classroom teaching certificate with verified work experience.

  • Two years of full-time wage earning experience in one or more marketing occupations
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Current valid Texas classroom teaching certificate

Health Science with SOQ

A health science certification may be added by exam to a valid classroom teaching certificate with verified work experience and current licensure, certification or registration by a nationally recognized accrediting agency as a health professions practitioner.

  • Two years of full-time wage-earning experience utilizing medical license
  • Current medical licensure, certification, or registration by nationally recognized agency as a health professions practitioner
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Current valid Texas classroom teaching certificate
  • Completion of the Region 13 Health Science online test preparation course

Trades and Industrial Education with SOQ

  • A trade and industrial education certification may be added by exam to a valid classroom teaching certificate with verified work experience and current licensure, certification, or registration by a state or nationally recognized accrediting agency in any approved occupations for which instruction is offered. Two years of full-time wage-earning experience within the past ten years in one or more approved occupations.
  • Licensure, certification, or registration by a nationally recognized agency or successful performance on NOCTI exam
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Current valid Texas classroom teaching certificate

To access ECampus:

  1. Please visit: https://ecampus.esc13.net/login.html
  2. If you have a current account in ECampus, you can use your current log in information to access it. If you do not have a current log in, you will select create a new account.
  3. Once you are logged in, you will search for the workshop ID listed above and once it is displayed you will click register.
  4. Follow the prompts and you can submit payment.
